ABOUT US

Heritage Church is a group of real people living real lives trying to discover real faith. We are connected by our love for people and for God.  In fact, we like to say "We love big!"

We would love to have you as our guest, learn your story, and tell you ours. We might just be the perfect place for you.  If Heritage is not for you, we'd be glad to help you find another amazing church in our area. We want you to find your place to grow in your faith and in your relationship with others.

WHO WE ARE

OUR MISSION

Heritage Church exists to help people realize their God-given potential so they can help others do the same. The best way to reach our potential is to follow Jesus.  We are big on grace. We try our best to never judge, condescend, or teach hate or bigotry. We believe everyone is made in the image of God. We are big on serving others. Everyone has something to share. Everyone has potential. Let us help you reach yours.

OUR VISION

We strive to be a center of community life for the Madison/East Limestone area - a place where people can meet, learn, serve, play, pray, and worship together.

At Heritage, we help people do four simple things:

Know: Know God, others, & yourself

Grow: Grow spiritually and relationally

Go: Serve others in the world around you

Pass it on: Pass on the love you have received

OUR VALUES

Many churches posses the same values, but below are four distinct values you need to know about Heritage:

Authenticity: You're safe here. We want to help you be comfortable with the "real you." People can smell "fake" a mile away. If we cannot love you as you are, we don’t deserve to be called followers of Christ.

Acceptance: No matter whether you are young or old, rich or poor, male or female, red, yellow, black, or white, straight or gay, Republican or Democrat, you deserve to be accepted for who you are. God loves you, and so do we.

Kids: Kids are important to us. They are not the church of tomorrow; they are the church of today! We take our responsibility to raise up the next generation very seriously. Kids are a priority at Heritage Church. We need them as well. Jesus says they are our example of true faith.

Love: Our prime command as followers of Jesus is to love God and others.  We run every action and decision through the lens of love. At Heritage, we love big!

OUR HISTORY

YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD CHURCH

Heritage Church was launched in 2016. Pastors Michael and Suzanne Katschke were tasked with planting this new church in our community. You know the name "Heritage" is everywhere here! Our desire was to be a church for the people in our community.  Since our launch, we've grown (just like our community), held a lot of community events, served a lot of people, survived a pandemic, and are now in the process of building a recreation league for the community in our park, named (of course), Heritage Park. Our heart is to be a healthy, strong neighborhood church. Are you interested in creating more history with us?  We'd love for you to be a part of what God is doing at Heritage!

OUR STAFF

Michael Katschke

Co-Pastor

Michael is a co-pastor of the church. You can find him preaching next to Suzanne most Sundays, with the youth group on Wednesdays, and playing with his grandkids (Ava Grace and Hudson) on others. Although he has all the normal pastoral duties, you can usually find him doing something technical around the church.

Suzanne Katschke

Co-Pastor

Suzanne is a co-pastor of the church. You'll notice her preaching next to Michael on most Sundays, and with the youth group on Wednesdays. She loves her grandkids and spoils them rotten with surprises.  She's sincerely responsible for most of the great ideas we implement around here. She loves people and always has a heart for the underdog.

Tom King

Worship Leader

Tom is our amazing worship leader.  He loves all things music and would do it full-time if he didn't have to feed his kids.  He runs an awesome team of very gifted musicians and singers.  If you want to help out with the worship team, just set-up a time to sit down and see how you might fit in.

Patrick Sullivan

Tech Director

Patrick is our tech director.  You will never notice that he's there, and he likes it that way.  You would notice if he wasn't though.  He's the glue that keeps our worship services together.  And yes, he's playing that trombone.  He's kind of awesome at it.

Alisha Percey

Director of Operations

Alisha job is to make things work at Heritage.  She is a G.S.D. (Gets Stuff Done) kind of person, but she always has time to stop and laugh with you.  Watch out though. She might just put you to work.

Kady Rain Owens

Children's Director

Kady is a multi-talented individual that absolutely loves children...and they love her back.  She's always thinking of new and better ways to lead the children of Heritage.

CJ Brown

Youth Director

With a heart for ministry, In addition to his work in youth ministry, CJ is a valued member of the Heritage Church worship team, where he brings his talents and love for music to glorify God. His ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds, combined with his passion for teaching and mentorship, makes him a dynamic part of the Heritage family.

Dia Johnson

Preschool Director

Dia is our preschool director.  She wrangles little kids all week at Heritage.  She loves the kids in our preschool and is amazing with the parents.  We are blessed to have her on our team.

Keyana & Tynesha Malone

Heritage Sports Co-Directors

When it comes to kids sports in the Tennesee Valley, the Malone sisters are a force to be reckoned with.  Having coached young people in various sports leagues and schools for over a decade, they have extensive experience in the development of young athletes.

Ryan Wrublik

Assistant Director, Heritage Sports

Ryan has coached everything from his own boy’s recreational U4 soccer to Division 1 beach volleyball over the past decade. His true passion lies not in sports itself, but rather in the vehicle they are to help people develop: to do hard things, develop work ethic and character, and ultimately become more Christ-like.
